Aging
Friday, November 11th, 2005…it becomes too frequent that as people get older they believe they must make fronts and faces, like a big puppet show for the world, yet they don’t seem to grasp why as we get older people get further away. This distance begins to define our maturity rather than, ourselves, realizing that the distance between our social characters is a result of unavoidable selfish behavior. The young must face the psychology of sustenance in a world full of others that aim also to sustain. It is in age that we acquire the confidence of maintenance and thereby see it as nature.
At first it feels like we are just getting more and more into our responsibilities, so the time shared with others becomes limited; but actually when aging the issue becomes that we experience a recategorization of values, realizing that certain habits aren’t conducive to maintaining a social environment. Basically drinking a bottle of gin in one night doesn’t make one apt to be relied upon the next morning, or for that matter the next day or two. So the result is both comeradarie with those we indulge ourselves with as well as distance; then when people get those dreaded "real jobs" (because they’ve tricked themselves in believing that life is only fun when you’re being debaucherous) they allow the boredom to dominate their Being.
As far as the weather, it was cold for two to three weeks in october, but surprisingly heated up to short-sleeved weather in november… very strange. Thanks, to the all the "things" the factories produce so that our lovely pollution makes the world a jamaican paradise… It should be getting cold again, but gradually the years get warmer and warmer. In chengdu 20 years ago, it used to snow. It never snows now.
