Thanks for coming to the Hemp House and the Little Bar shows these past two weeks. We really appreciated the turnout. The Hemp House had close to 400 people… It was a shame that the show was cut short. If we had known the bar didn’t have a performance license, we would’ve worked harder to get one. But all in all the show was beautiful, emotions riding well alongside the warmth that filled the room; really nice communal feeling.
The Little Bar show went really well also. I was silly and forgot to send an email about the little Bar show; We all had a good time though. Douglas, Melissa, Brian, Ludan, and Reed (whose Band name changes every show so I don’t know what it was) did a really nice set with saxophone, piano, hand drums and clever poetry. I think we’ll have to put together a circus group for the summer and tour together. Very special. They set the stage for good creative ears…
The ceremony went well… good strength and positive energy. I remember specifically being very moved by "Like Snow". It seemed as though, out of the blue, everyone knew the words… It made me cry, right there on stage… really, thank you Butterflies.

On Friday, April 7th, six Chengdu Bands (Idolum of Eddy, Bad Apple, Sound and Toy, Dim Nova, Proximity Butterfly, and Ashura) did an Ed Sullivan-like television spot for CDTV-15. The filmed with a live studio audience and asked a bunch of funny questions. One in particular I liked was when they asked me if I had ever heard Chinese music before. Well, previously I had just told them that I lived in Chengdu for over 4 years… and on top of that we were there with five other Chinese bands. So, obviously I have. My sarcastic response might not take well with some… but that day I really had a good time, really had fun! It isn’t often that we all get together like that, these bands, and talk and laugh and share ideas. Hard work sometimes results in less time spent socializing, so being with them all made m feel really good.
There are two viewings of the shows. Unfortunately the first showing was last Sunday, April 9th, but next Sunday at 8:00pm GMT- the 16th- Bad Apple, Proximity Butterfly, and Ashura will be aired!
So, arcana has finally been released. You can get it at the Little Bar (Yu Lin Xi Lu, Chengdu, China)
